Dotgrid does not collect personal data on any server, has no user accounts, and shows no ads. The only information that ever leaves your device is what's needed to fetch the weather — and even that is optional.
This policy explains what the Dotgrid app (“Dotgrid”, “the app”, “we”) does with your information. Dotgrid is a pack of home-screen widgets for Android, published by Tikitech (package in.tikitech.dot).
Only one feature sends anything off your device: weather. When you use a weather widget, the app requests the current forecast from Open-Meteo, a keyless weather service, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Depending on how you set it up, the request includes either:
This information is used only to return the weather for that place. It is not stored on a server and is not linked to your identity. Your raw location is used transiently and is not retained; only the resulting weather (temperature, condition, and place name) is cached locally on your device so the widget can show it. Weather is entirely optional — you can type a city instead of granting location, or simply not use weather widgets.
These features work entirely on your device and never transmit anything:
| Location (approximate) | Optional. Fetches local weather. You can type a city instead. |
| Calendar | Optional. Displays your upcoming events in calendar widgets, on-device only. |
| Internet | Fetches weather from Open-Meteo. No other network use. |
| Run at startup | Re-schedules widget refreshes after your device reboots. |
Dotgrid offers a single one-time purchase, Dotgrid Pro, to unlock the full set of designs. Payments are processed by Google Play Billing; we never see or store your payment details. The app only keeps a local flag on your device indicating whether Pro is unlocked, and re-verifies your entitlement with Google Play.
Because Dotgrid keeps no data on a server, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf. All app data — cached weather, copied photos, notes, and your Pro flag — lives on your device and is permanently removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data in Android settings.
Dotgrid is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information for anyone.
All network communication uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Since no personal data is collected or stored off your device, there is no server-side data at risk.
